St Paul is a significant part of the expansion of Christianity throughout history. St Paul and St Barnabas started their journey in the city of Antioch of Syria, where they were approached by the Holy Spirit and told to go and spread the good news of Jesus. St Paul did four Missionary journeys. He was a missionary to the Gentiles. By spreading the story of Jesus Christ, St Paul gave Jews and Gentiles a way forward. He taught about salvation through the grace and the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ His teachings were also about the love of God. He traveled to Christian communities in key cities such as Rome, Ephesus and Corinth. He also reached places like Greece, Syria and Turkey and started churches. His doings and travels made the Christian community more worldwide
How his arguments influenced the Council of Jerusalem and early Christianity
St Paul’s arguments significantly influenced the early Christians and the Council of Jerusalem. In his teachings Paul pointed out that Christian salvation did not oblige obedience to the Law of Moses. Paul challenged Early Christians to accept Gentiles into the Church as full members, this is seen in his teachings. It is obvious that St Paul had a great impact on the council of Jerusalem (50 A.D (BCE)) decision that the Gentiles Christians do not need to follow kosher food laws. His arguments impacted early Christianity by introducing a new perspective on the use of Jewish traditions in the Christian religion. Paul was a key person of the creation of Christianity and was a loyal disciple of Jesus.
How his letters impacted early Christianity
St Paul wrote numerous letters. His letters and writings are some of the earliest Christian documents that have been found. This helps us understand how much impact he had on the early Christians, he was one of the earliest writers, 13 out of the 27 books in the new testament of the bible were written by him. Paul’s letters gave guidance to the Christian communities about many different things but most importantly how to live as a disciple of Christ. His compassionate letters inspired people.
